Where does the Shorty take place?

At McInnis Park in San Rafael. There are signs to direct traffic to the race area, which is above the skate park, on the old Nike missile site at the top of the hill. Please respect the no bikes rule at the skate park.

What is parking like?

Please park in the large gravel lot on the left after the tennis courts and before the paved parking lot at the skate park.  From here it is a short ride/walk through the skate park parking lot and up the fireroad to the hilltop, where you will take a left and see the registration tent.

Where and when can I find race results?

Results will be available online and onsite as soon as the race for that class is over.  The results include timing for each lap.

Can I pre-ride the course?

Yes, racers may pre-ride the course on race days. These trails are not open to mountain bikes at other times; please do not pre-ride on any other days. Registered racers may pre-ride the course while other classes are racing, but only if they do not interfere with the action and avoid passing the start line, where scoring takes place.

Anything I can do to prepare for this race?

Practice bike handling skills and ride to increase fitness. Make sure your bike is in good working order.

How much does it cost to race?

The fee for racing is $30 for all Middle School, Women’s, A, B , and C classes.  This fee helps cover our costs for insurance, site fee, electronic timing, medical personnel, and other expenses associated with putting on a safe and fun race.  If you want to race, but are not able to due to the cost, please contact the race organizers.

What’s the rain policy?

In over ten years, we have not had to cancel a race due to weather, but it is possible if there is heavy rain on the day of the race.  Please see our Facebook Page for up to the minute details.
In the unlikely event that we cancel a race due to rain or other unforeseen circumstances, we will hold a makeup race at a date TBA.
